Ziply Internet Price Changes Over 13 Months

The lowest-cost Ziply internet-only plan is Fiber Internet 30/30, which starts at $20 and increases 100% after the first year. That makes the final rate $40, not including the optional WiFi and premium mesh WiFi router fees.

Their mid range plan, Fiber Internet 100/100, starts at the $40 price point and goes up 50% to $60 after the promo period.

The 1,000 Mbps plan, Fiber Internet Gig, goes up 33% to a $80 monthly rate.

The quite low rate for the lower speed plans makes the price increase look far worse than it is, percentage-wise. In fact, the increase is set by dollar amount and is equivalent between plans, rather than based on a percentage.

Note that all plans have a $10 per month WiFi router fee, which you can only remove if you bring your own WiFi router. They also offer a “premium” WiFi router with multiple mesh access points for larger homes, for an additional cost. (Details at our Ziply pricing page.)

In summary, the actual price of each Ziply Fiber plan after your promotion runs out is:

  1. Fiber Internet 30/30 (30 Mbps plan): $50/mo.
  2. Fiber Internet 100/100 (100 Mbps plan): $70/mo.
  3. Fiber Internet Gig (1000 Mbps plan): $90/mo.

Why Did my Ziply Fiber bill go up?

If you’re confused why your Ziply Fiber bill has gone up $20 or more, the reason is because you signed up for a new customer incentive, which you no longer receive after the first twelve months of service.

Promotional pricing for new customers is a standard practice in the broadband industry. Virtually all major providers use the tactic, although some brands like Comcast and Frontier have come under harsher scrutiny for making it unclear during sign-up that the pricing is not fixed. 1
